Collaborations

We collaborate in different networks, not only as a means of producing cost effective results, but also as a tool for our students and members to broad their minds, their culture and their expertise, thus providing people with a valuable personal training and background.

Since 2007, our research group is part of the ORFEO network (ORFEO = Organometallic Functionalization of Organic Molecules), first supported by a Consolider- Ingenio 2010 contract (CSD2007-0006), then forming the ORFEO-CINQA Research Network (CINQA is the acronym for Center of Innovation in advanced chemistry) (https://orfeocinqa.es), a Virtual Center of Organometallic Chemistry that brings together 12 research groups from across Spain and UK to collaboratively address the solution of problems shading the borders between the different areas of chemistry. Margarita Paneque is a member of the governing board, and the leader of Research Group 8.  Since 2008, this network organizes the International School on Organometallic Chemistry Marcial Moreno Mañas, with a strong training character. Our group organized the 2015 edition of the School in Seville (http://school2015.orfeo-cinqa.es/).

We are part of the COST Action CA15106, C-H Activation in Organic Synthesis (CHAOS). Margarita Paneque and Nuria Rendón are members of this Action whose main aim is to render C-H activation a truly versatile, practical and environmentally credible tool for organic chemistry, applicable in both industry & academia. Nuria Rendón is member of the Management Committee of the Action. Within this Action, Short-term scientific missions (STSM) are developed. These are exchange visits between researchers involved in a COST Action, allowing scientists to visit an institution or laboratory in another COST country. STSM are aimed at strengthening existing networks and fostering collaborations. Marta Olivares, PhD Student (3rd year) from Martin Albrecht´s research group Organometallic Synthesis & Catalysis (University of Bern) did a Short-term scientific mission (STSM) in OSACA´s lab from January to March, 2017. Práxedes Sánchez-Mellado, PhD Student (3rd year) from OSACA´s lab did a short-term scientific mission (STSM) in Karl Kirchner´s research group at the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry (Vienna University of Technology) from August to October, 2017.
