Laura L. Santos studied Chemistry at the University of Sevilla (1995-2000) and afterward she obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Sevilla (2005), working under the direction of Prof. Ernesto Carmona and Prof. Margarita Paneque at the Instituto de Investigaciones Químicas (IIQ; CSIC-US). During this period she studied the formation and cleavage of C—H, C—C and C—O bonds of ethers by Ir compounds containing the TpMe2 ligand. In 2006, she spent a short stay with Prof. Kurt Mereiter at the Universidad Tecnológica de Viena and then, in 2007, she joined the group of Prof. Avelino Corma at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (Valencia) as a postdoctoral researcher. Since december 2008 she is Associate Professor in the Inorganic Chemistry Department of the University of Seville.

- Synthesis of noble metal complexes with polydentate ligands. Study of reaction mechanisms and catalytic applications.
